If I am asked to explain something in an exam and I write down almost the exact wording that I memorized from my readings or reviewers, would that be plagiarism? If, for example, I am asked to explain a theory, may I use the words that I memorized as a definition of the theory? I'm not saying it's my theory. I'm merely defining it based on what I was able to study.

I am considering obtaining a PhD, but I'm not sure of the research that is entailed. Approximately how long should the dissertation be? Do PhD students actually attend classes or are the classes just time to work on the dissertation? Any suggestions/advice/experience welcome. Thank you

I'm really considering majoring in Philosophy of Language but I'm not really sure what kind of a career I could make out of it. To be a little more general, I'm shooting for a major in Philosophy in college but I'm not sure if this would be very practical. Can anyone provide insight into what I'd be getting myself into?

So, i have decided to go to UCD instead of La Sierra University (where I got a full ride) because in my opinion they have a better biology program/neuroscience/neurobiology program

i want to major in Anthropology (forensic perhaps) and neurobiology/neuroscience...
and im going to live in a dorm...

so please..tell me..what is it like

im going to be over 400 miles away from home

are the ppl nice?
what are the dorms like?
expences?
food?
are the classes tough?
is the experience "great"?
and was it worth it in the end?

im just curious cause im the first person in my family to go to college (yea, FOB status)...so yea..its going to be ALL new to me

Here's the deal.. I just switched majors to finance, and I'm not incredibly behind because I was previously an economics major, however, I do need to make up a few classes.. I will end up needing an extra semester to graduate.. I really don't want to sacrifice my summer taking classes when I can get intern experience, but is it worth it if it will help me graduate in four years?

Hi all -
I just recently got accepted to both UPenn and Berkeley, under economics major. However, my economics major at UPenn isn't under Wharton school - it's College of Arts and Sciences. Thus, If I go to UPenn, I might have to transfer into Wharton. If I go to Berkeley, I will definitely have to re-apply junior year into Haas (they don't offer freshman admissions into Haas).

I live in California, about an hour drive from Berkeley. Berkeley is also about $15k cheaper than Penn. But, Penn does have that Ivy-League reputation, which might be helpful later on...

Where should I go? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
