I am reading an excellent dissertation by a lady named Pamela Althea Joyce, on the education system, and urban education. I believe it is available at The city University of New York. If you are interested in the progress of education and concentration on urban education, thumb through it. It may help you and peak your interest

I am 15, a freshman in high school. Next year I will be taking honors chemistry, Honors Biology, and, if the school will let me, honors physics and honors anatomy. I want to go to Harvard, but I am also applying to Stanford, Oxford, and a few others along with safety schools. My college fund can cover these school, so I am more worried about getting accepted. I have an internship scheduled with a local cardiovascular surgeon (I live in Montana if that really matters), will attend a medical camp this summer that has some of the world's top sergeons teaching, will volunteer at three hospitals this summer, and, as a job, day trade in the stock market (that way I can make $1000 in one weekend of doing nothing, as opposed to working for minimum wage). Is there anything else that I can do to increase my chances of being accepted? Do you have any suggestions?

Thank You.

You can also e-mail me at eliah91@gmail.com if you have any more suggestions.

Thanks once again.

I am currently an undergrad who wants to switch to either of these two majors.

I was wondering which major is better/more interesting and which would be more worthwhile?

My ultimate career goal (as of now, and I know it might change) is to become an optometrist. No, NOT an ophthalmologist. [I am a senior in high school right now] To my understanding, I have to go to a 4 year school to get a Bachelor's degree and then apply for an optometry school and [upon admission] I will have to attend 3 years there.. and then im done?
Are there any courses in college I should take. i will be attending Indiana University and will be majoring in "Optometric Technology" because that's the closest thing they have to my goal. Then, if i pass and dont get distracted, I'll apply for optometry school... Is this anyth information I have wrong?? I just want to know before I get too confused or on the incorrect path!

major in addiction
this is one of my top interest but salary isn't as I would like.

major in psychology
another one of my top interest but I doubt I will commit to pursuing a PhD. Ive heard you can't get very far with only a BA and though it is a liberal arts degree, it is almost worthless

major in accounting
There are many opportunities and high earning potential with this degree. I am very organized and work well with numbers but I'm not exactly sure just how hard the courses are (i.e. math courses).

or should I consider any other majors?

I do not have any privacy especially he is our co-worker. You can't do things you can do as a girl because he is in the room now. Every night he keeps on snoring and I have to live the room for them: will you stay in the room, tell the housing directpr, or ignore them

I just looked at my stats from the application I sent to the UNI. I want to transfer to and it said Freshman Associate Degree Transfer. NOW WAIT A MINUTE!! I thought a 2 year college was the equivelent to your Freshman and Sophomore years at a Uni. so when I transfer I'll be classified as a junior wouldn't I?! Please tell me I'm right or I think I'm on the verge of passing out.

I graduated in December with 79 hours and a associate degree in Political Science and according to both Uni.'s I applied to I only needed over 64 hours to be classified as a junior. I have 79. Well over what is needed. What is going on?! Why am I being classified as a freshman?! Thank You

By the "true" lecture, I mean a set of ideas presented by a speaker in an uninterrupted manner. The audience only listens. Most of us have attended these lectures at one time or another, but they are usually keynote addresses. DO any of you still have professors who lecture in the old style (Sans q&a)? I had only one in my undergraduate years- an elderly scholar who taught the phenomenology and existentialism courses in the philosophy department. He would lecture one week, then the next we could ask about ideas presented in the lecture. (grad school was too intimate for true lecture, and law school profs. always call on students.)

I'm considering going back to school to get a master's in marriage & family therapy. Because I don't live within driving distance of a university that offers a program, I'm looking at various places that offer online learning. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good school for a masters in either this field or psychology/counseling? Thanks!

Thesis: The Constitution and the Geneva Convention have been violated by the Patriot Act and how American troops are treating "suspected" terrorists.

I know it needs to be rephrased. Any help on that also?

Is this thesis too broad? Could it be argued in 3 pages?
