I am writing a research paper for college concerning the effects of a national smoking ban. I would love feedback from you all on these following questions. Thank You so much!

1. How much do you smoke per day?

2. How much do you spend per day/week?

3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?)

4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?)

5. Do you want to quit? If so...

6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective?

(I may be posting this question several times to get a good number of participants. Please post only once. Again, Thank You!)

I have a bachelors in art but want to become a psychologist or psychiatrist. Does anyone know of financial grants for older people to go back to school?

I have been accepted to several colleges, but now i'm thinking that I should apply to less expensives ones. Most of the colleges that applied to are decent schools but cost about 25-30 thousand. I plan on doing ROTC in colleges and im considering a military career, so is it worth it to pay that much money when I can just get a degree from a cheaper college. I live in NY, so going to a SUNY school might be a good idea. Any suggestions?

It takes 10 years of study/residency to become a doctor and additional years to specialize. In your opinion at what point is it unrealistic to go back to school for medicine?

2007-03-03 05:12:36 · 9 answers · asked by Laertes 1

I'm considering pursuing psychiatry from scratch. Pre-med classes usually take around two years, medical school is usually four. I've heard you then have to spend two years interning and two years as a resident which would bring the total up to 10 years. Do your years in residency count towards specializing in psychiatry or does this require additional years of study? 10 years in a pretty hefty sum as it is and 12 or 14 years of required study might be too much to contemplate.

even know them. But i have taken classes from one of them and it seem like he is just in a power trip and favors only certain people.
is it really necessary to present letters of recommendation from them to get into medical school?

I'm currently an engineering student at Umass-Lowell and I commute. I'd like to live at school but I find Umass-Lowell to be kind of depressing and I don't really like it there.

What I'm asking is if Umass-Amherst is a suitable school for a quiet, introverted student like me?? I've heard wild stories about the place and people calling it "zoo"-mass. I'd like to get some feedback from students with experience there and I'd like to know if there are lots of people there with personalities like mine??

I'm graduating in May and my college says to check the bookstore for prices, but they don't have anything listed. I know graduation isn't for awhile, I'm just curious about how much the cap and gown will cost. Most people buy their cap and rent the gown right? So how much is that usually?

I've been calculating the score I got from the uni, I find hard to get good grade, since I am such radical person, and yeah the truth I don't really heard their lecture. Such was then I filled the mid and last term exam with my own logic. My score is 2.22

Note:
Average good score for getting jobs in my country is 2.75 seen in many newspaper job ads

The maximum score is 4.

So my score is only 2.22. And from the beginning I have targeted to be 2.75. What's your strategy then?

I've been thinking to change my strategy now then, to just heard their lecture and just wrote them, and to answer the exams verbatim, ya know? I just don't think they really accepts creative writing do they?
