When they say write a paragraph with in 150-250 words, do they count articles ('a', 'an', 'the')?

Yes... usually every single word counts. If it makes sense without it then just leave it out.

Yes. On word , Just highlight the text on the paper
go to tools
word count

You will see how many words you have .
