Thesis: The Constitution and the Geneva Convention have been violated by the Patriot Act and how American troops are treating "suspected" terrorists.

I know it needs to be rephrased. Any help on that also?

Is this thesis too broad? Could it be argued in 3 pages?

well, you need to figure out your argument as to why the Constitution (US I think) and the Geneva Convention have been violated instea of just saying they have been. Are the "suspected" terrorists violating it? the soldiers?

You could say something like: With the USA Patriot Act to bolster their position, suspected terrorists have been treated contrary to the edicts of not only the US Constitution, but the world-recognized Geneva Convention . . . . . (and then why they have been treated contrarily.

Good luck

It really depends on whether you're serious or not.

If you really want to do this, you're going to have to really read the Patriot Act, and since it is, for the most part, change to existing laws by replacing words and adding phrases, that's going to take some time, and more than three pages to explain. Of course, you could simplify that if you wanted to assert the novel theory that the Patriot Act is unconstitutional simply because it is unknowable for the average person, and while I'd support that idea, I think you need more than 3 pages to make an argument that would render our entire tax code invalid.

However, if you're just trying to make the panel of judges happy, I think it's probably a fine thesis, and you could fill it with three pages of soup recipes and they'd probably never know the difference.

Why limit the definition to terrorism. Expand and include corrupt law enforcement ? No, wait. How does legislation describe law enforcement to begin with.

Like the bible its all interpretation. Not just between that of language barriers but the sentence itself as it is written can be liberal, a conservative sentence cannot be manipulated.

When a sentence is difficult to read it takes on multiple meanings.

It is in this way a pattern emerges and one can establish some more important rules.

Take for example my question.

Is it fair and equitable for a Mayor to own a real estate firm or as in Paul Martin's case a Shipping industry ? When I look to the constitution where is my public trust but in an obscured text that lends so much room for manipulation.

hmm. it seems like it can be expanded a little. it seems a little weak.

and a weak thesis can destroy a paper, project or prospectus.
