i would like to be an academic advisor for a college/university in the next two years but im getting my masters degree in human resources. Does it matter what my master degree is in to become an academic advisor or it wouldnt matter what my master degree is in as long as I have a masters degree? my bachelors degree is university studies which is an liberal arts degree? I heard that I should major in educational psychology.

If so, how was it? Did you learn a lot? Did this course help you get a good job? Was it hard, easy, challenging? Details, people! =D

My daughter is only in 10th grade so we still have plenty of time to do our research. She gets fair grades, B avg (hardly ever A's or C's). She does not yet know what interests her, or exactly what type of career she intends to pursue. I'm no millionaire either. So i'm looking for a fairly generalized curriculum that provides a good value for the money.

I'm out of school at the moment, preparing to transfer to another one August 27th of this year. In the meantime, I'll be uninsured because my involvement in her plan depends on actual full time enrollment rather than just being accepted. Please advise.

I have an A in Honors English/History, but these are the only Honors level courses that I am taking in high school as I am not a genius. However, I do like History and English and I do want to become a journalist or something that involves writing and creativity.

So what are the advantages of taking an AP course? Do you need to have one to get into a state university or a good private school (Ivy Leagues excluded)?

You know what they say "those who can't do, teach" - does it not appear to be true? Why would great marketers be professors if they could make a really nice salary working as a CMO, or director of marketing for Fortune 500 company. Just apply the same to all other kinds of professors.

I was wondering if someone goes to a state college for undergrad but then applies to a prestigious institution for grad school, will their acceptance be affected because they went to a regular(not top ranked) undergrad school?

I'm just trying to figure out what is involved in becoming an archeologist. If I have my mind set that I'm going to get my PhD, can I skip redoing my BA in Archeology/Anthropology, and go straight to my masters in Archeology? And does anyone kno the best places to do a BA/Masters/PhD in Archeology (I'm interested in both ancient classical and underwater Archeology)? In addition, if anyone knows of any funding that's available for this kind of thing (grants, scholarships, etc.) that would be useful as I already have debt from my BA in Communications.

I recently took a position with a higher education two-year school. I want to advance my career down the line and get my PhD. I know I can go back to school, but how can I do it when I work fulltime. Should I consider an online PhD degree through Walton U.? I don't think they are nearly as credible but wanted some ideas from those that have been down the road before.
Thanks!
