Gender, race and ethnicity are not as important as they were even twenty years ago. There is still racila and ethinic consciousness, but it has, in my experience been fading as people become comfortable with all people. There seems to be a new kind of racism growing in the U.S., centering on illegal immigrants. mexican and South American immigrants are becoming the new feared minority. It is odd to listen to friends tell em how "lazy" these people are and, in the same breath, how they are "stealing our jobs". How do lazy people steal jobs? I sometimes can't help myself and end up asking outright what job the speaker has stolen from them.

I think all of them have affected some aspects of behavior: I'm a woman, so I try not to walk out late at night...it's a safety thing. I'm AfrAm, sometimes you must be aware of the surroundings when you are AfrAm--for example I was shopping, apparently too slowly, and the shop girl called the police on me...so now, I shop faster. I am an American, so I do some things that Americans do, which can be very different from people from other countries. anyone who says nothing affets them has not lived long enough. A Black male knows he had better modify his behavior in some intances (such as reaching for a wallet in the general vicinity of a police office) or he may be shot.

I believe my ethnic background had very little to do with my behavior. I was raised in a multi-cultured small town, and I'm thankful for that. I feel that my environment had a greater influence.

Media/Television. Katrina disaster is a good description of how people perceived other people which was terribly wrong due to race.

whilst me and my acquaintances have been youthful we've been bitter because of the fact darkish skinned black females weren't seen beautiful in hollywood. It made us be extra protecting and over shielding. darkish skinned black boys enjoyed lighter epidermis black woman tones yet on no account their own. So it made us loud, indignant and bitter.

I think that being a white girl living in the US with european heritage has only slightly affected my behavior. I dont like racism but there will always be some. At school black kids call us crackers then we call them nigers( sorry if it offends but its the truth and originates from *****(spanish word for black) Then all laugh and end up partying at some1's house
