Schools usually announce on their Web pages the minimum requirements needed. If your GPA is not the best, I would recommend you attend a two-year community college, work hard on getting a decent GPA, and transfer to a four-year school.

Most schools don't look for a particular GPA; they take the best they can get. Your best bet is to look at the history of their incoming freshman classes for the past few years, and assuming they haven't changed their strategies, assume that they are hoping to attract slightly better students each year. You can ask the Admissions Office at any school what the average GPA and SAT scores of their freshman class was last year.
