I have picked out two of my most desirable careers: neurosurgeon and professor. I have compared salaries and obviously, neurosurgeons earn more. I love to teach and research, and I don't know whether that is possible in neurology. I am willing to for the long school hours and the long work hours; its perfectly fine by me. I need some expert opinion.... thank you.
P.S.: I'm considering to be a Professor of Genetics or European History (probably Genetics.)

Do NOT make your decision at this point based on money! Where are you in your education? If you are in college, you should major in chemistry and/or biology in order to get to medical school. To be a professor, you need at least a PhD (6 years) and probably a post-doc fellowship. Many medical doctors also get a PhD in addition to the MD--that would be an additional 6-7 years after college. I think after 1-2 years of clinical or research practice, you would then be able to get a position as a professor (many professors also have clinical practices).
