The miserable B in Russian could be your undoing. Everybody knows that good Russian is the foundation of any young prodigy.

(Seriously though - I think you think you know you're in with a chance. My GCSEs were weighted more towards the prosey/social sciencey stuff like English, History, Geography etc. - and I B'd out on the Science/Maths stuff. That certainly looks like very high tier university standard, beyond what I could apply for. Although slumming it with the lesser Unis may be advisable - you could be the sole Renaissance man and would be a huge hit with the ladies)

WOW they are very impressive grades!

Along with working hard and keeping up these grades you need to do something else to stand out, because you're probably not the only one to get lots of good high marks.

You need to prove your committed to the course of choice for your degree.
1. Depending on what you want to do, get some work experience in an area if you cannot get a part time job in a similar area.
2. If your are part of some time of group at school/college like sport or council or something this is important to mention on your UCAS form as well. It shows your a team player and would be a good advocate for the university.
3. Make sure you go to the universities open days and find out all you can make sure it is the right uni for you. IT may be a prestigious uni but might not be right for you in the end.
4. You could take a year out and do something really worthwhile, it doesn't have to be abroad, there is plenty of charity work avaliable in the UK. I seem to remember hearing on the news that care work with older people is becoming particularly useful in getting into uni even if your not planning on doing any work actually with people like that.

As long as you get the grades in Alevel that are needed e.g. BBB in appropriate subjects, and you obviously have A*-C maths, science and english you will be fine academically. You just need to stand out with other activities or attributes you can do or offer, really got to sell yourself.

Yes. Contrary to popular belief... getting into uni isnt just about A Level results. A guy from my class received a letter from Oxford last week saying they couldnt offer him an interview ... and he got 4 A's at AS Level...
However you seem to be more of an 'all rounder'... ure pretty much good at everything, really! This is of great benefit to you, especially with a language, as it sets you apart from all the other 'normal clever' ppl applying to Oxbridge. A Levels are damn hard, so keep working at i wish u the best!

I agree grades play a part in getting into uni, and you have some impressive grades there, but its not all about grades. Its the interview that counts! My friends had 11 A*s in his GCSE results, and he applied for Medicine at Oxford and Cambridge, he got pass the Cambridge interview, but not past Oxford, they dont only look at grades, they assess you with alot of other criteria's! So good luck!

Yep they're fine. Just make sure you pick suitable A-Levels as that's where many people fall down on. Get the prospectuses from Cambridge and Oxford and look at their A-Level requirements for the subject(s) you want to do.

considering they want atleast 6 A's I'd say yes!
but it will depend greaty on the strength of your A/S grades...you'll need high A's, and to be a well-rounded person. make sure in the next year you get involved in as much possible, especially activities surrounding your chosen course so you have a lot of interesting things to write on a personal statement.

Jesus mate, they're brilliant. People at college are getting interviews with lower results than that, you'll have no problem. Just make sure you concentrate on your A levels, best of luck.
