You don't have a choice of one or the other. If you have not been to college before, you cannot go for a masters degree, which requires that you have a bachelors degree before you can get into the program.

You have a few options if you are in the San Gabriel Valley, but I don't know what your high school record is. The least expensive way to approach your business education would be to start out at a community college and get an associates degree, then move on to a four-year university. I would recommend that you start at Pasadena City College, which is one of the best community colleges in the Los Angeles area. If you do reasonably well, you could then transfer to one of the California State Universities, like Cal Poly Pomona, which has a good reputation in business, or Cal State Los Angeles, which also has a large business program. If your record is stronger, and if you can afford an expensive private university, Chapman University is not too far away, and USC (the University of Southern California) is fairly nearby. They both have good business programs (USC's is excellent), but they are much harder to get into. Other schools in the area are outstanding, but don't really offer business programs (Cal Tech, the Claremont Colleges).

BA, then MA, then Ph. D.!!!

you have to have one before you can get the other.

if you can find a good job w/ a BA, cool. the further you go, the more options you have. simple.
