I have a complicated situation. Im Canadian and from my research Im discovering MBAs here are not nearly as beneficial as "ranked" MBA programs in the U.S. I have looked at entry requirements for "ranked" programs and I am discouraged that I will not be able to get in based on my low GPA from my first undergrad degree. I have 2 undergrads from different universities. I started in BIO and bombed my 1st year due to personal reasons. I could only be admitted to sociology and disgruntled, I graduated with a C+ GPA, B not including 1st year. I worked for 2.5 years, went back to school and will graduate with a commerce degree with an A GPA in May '08. My questions:
1)Considering my senario and ignoring GMAT are there any US ranked MBA programs I could still get into?
2)FT ranks only 15 US schools above Rotman meaning it would crack the top 20. ( http://rankings.ft.com/global-mba-rankings ) I meet requirements into top CAN MBAs like Rotman do you really recommend against CAN MBAs?

I am 21 years old.. I just had a beautiful baby boy (now 9 weeks old!! =)). I have been out of high school since 2005 and I want to go back!! I have a history of starting something and never finishing it when it comes to school. I want to do something with my life and especially now that I have a son who will depend on me.

I want to go (possibly) to Ohio State University because I hear it's a great school and I will be moving from Boston to the Lima area this Christmas. Is it possible to be a great parent (There's a good chance I will be parenting him on my own for a while) while going to school and working??

I'm scared I'll start and think it's too hard and give up. But I don't want to do that! I want to get a degree in something and learn and be able to provide for my son. Can anyone share their experiences with this?? Is this even possible for someone to do while remaining sane lol??

Help!!

and thanks =)

What do you need to pursue a master degree in law? Also, would you need a specific kind of a bachelor degree?

Thanks!

Hi Guys,
I live and work in Las Vegas but have decided that I am at a point in my career to pursue an MBA. I love my job and would prefer not to quit my job and pick up and move to an MBA program. I have noticed that several top tier schools offer "weekend MBAs" like Haas, Anderson, Kellogg, and UCGSB. I have several questions for those who have already pursued an MBA about how feasible it would even be to pursue a weekend MBA:
1. Do you know if any (or all) of these programs are okay with students commuting to class?
2. How do you/would you complete group projects?
3. Obviously your ability to network would be affected so would this even be worthwhile considering how little I would be there?

Computer Information Systems or Computer Science? Would you rather be an Air Traffic Controller that only requires a 2 year degree and pays you about 100k a year?

First let me start by saying I live in a kind of small town with only one college which is a Community College. I have decided to switch into health careers from business which I found an absolute waste of time and was fairly forced into by a counselor based on test scores. I have taken a couple health careers classes now and absolutely love and have decided to eventually go on to get my BSN someday when we move to a bigger area.

However until then, I though that I would go ahead and get as much experience and education in the field as possible. Our school offers the following programs...

Administrative Medical Assisting
Clinical Medical Assisting
Certified Nurses Aid
Home Health Aid
LVN/LPN

With an Associate's Degree you would have to continue your education in order to specialize in CT, MRI Sonography etc. I know that with a Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology you are qualified for a management position, but also in a Bachelor's Degree program are you trained to specialize in CT, MRI, Sonography etc. ?

Why are so many people going to vocational schools instead of a regular 4 year college or a junior college. My cousin went to Hickey College and graduated in 15 months and working in an accounting firm and she's making $16 per hour. I am at a community college and I'm seriously thiking about transferring to a vocational school. I'm still kinda suspicious of them because their credits don't transfer anywhere else but finishing college in less than a year sounds good. Does anyone have experience with vocational school? Is a community college better choice than a vocational school? What are the drawbacks and benefits of vocational schools? Thanks everyone!

I am a freshman in college, and struggling immensely both academically and socially. I would REALLY like to take a year off after this year to work full time, and maybe join the Air Force. Has anyone else taken a year off and gone back? Do you think it's a good idea?

Hi, I'm a 3rd year Literature major and for our Research methods subject we have to write a baby thesis probably in preparation for our real thesis in upcoming 4th year, I'm having difficulties in here because unlike the previous research papers we wrote last semesters, we have to apply our own argument and a theoretical framework to the topic. And they really have to be narrowed down to be more specific.

I've already listed a few of my ideas:
Street Photography in Philippines
Magic Realism/Surrealism in Philippine Literature
Social consciousness (pertaining to poverty and the masses) in Philippine Literature
Eroticism in Philippine Literature

Problem is I can't think of a good argument for discussion...And I'm not sure if there are enough resources...
Can you suggest other topics?
Thanks...
