I am writing a cause and effect paper of going to college. Please help me by letting me know what you have gotten out of going. Thank you in advance.

College degrees can get you noticed in a way that other factors can't.

Your job experience is huge, but the fact that you have actually demonstrated ability to do what you are taught is sometimes bigger. That's what college gives.

If you go into the workforce right out of high school, you will start earning sooner and in many cases make more money to start with. You will also not have any student loan debt.

However, a college degree will probably allow you more opportunities to advance your career later on and eventually your salary will catch up and exceed the earnings of those without a college degree. That's the idea anyway.

with a college degree it is estimated that you will make 2 million more in your lifetime than with a high school diploma.
