UIC is a pretty good school. It is a lot better than it was when I was a freshman. The decrease in population has done the school good.
The fact is you can't really transfer until you have 30 hours of credit. If you transfer now, you could potentially lose all your UIC credit because you'll be considered a new freshman.
All the equivalently rated schools are about double to triple the cost of UIC i.e. Loyola and DePaul.
The grass is always greener on the other side. Every school has its problems. You just have to tough it out.
UIC is a tough grading school. It grades harder, on average, than Urbana.
