will it take for me to become a dermatologist?

do i start with pre med?

will i have to go throught cna lvn rn and all those to become a dermatologist ?

You will need:

1. Four years of college in any major -- but you also need to take the prerequisited for medical school. It would be a good idea to get a BS in biology or chemistry.

2. Four years of medical school.

3. One year as a medical intern

4. Three more years as a Dermatological Resident.

That is 12 years after HS.

You do not need to become a nurse first. In fact, very few nurses go on to get a medical degree.

You go through college, pre-med courses.

Then med school.

Then you do specialization work to get your certification.

college=4 years
med school=6years
spec.=2 or more years
