I would suggest gettting a business degree. This will help you know how to market yourself, be your own accountant, & have some experience to fall back on if or when the modeling career ends. Also, you can attain knowledge on how to execute & negotiate contracts with your agent & future clients. In addition, in the event you want to start an agency someday yourself, you will be able to not only look good but, know how to develop the business from the ground up.

You could take acting, but college is kind of late to be starting a modelling career. Most female models, by college age, would already have been working for years. If you're male, then college age might be an appropriate time to start working.

In reality, you can major in anything you like, but acting/theater would be the field closest to what you're doing as a model. You could also major in business, if you planned to work in the modelling or fashion business after you stopped modelling.

But again, major in what you like. My friend was a very high level model, and she majored in English. She later retired from modelling, and got her JD. She's now a lawyer.

There are no courses in college which would particularly help you in modeling itself, but since most models' have very short careers (most are done by 22 or 23), you can focus on what you want to do when you are done modeling yourself. Do you want to act? Do you want to run a modeling agency? Do you want to go into the fashion industry? Your question is the equivalent of saying, "I want to be a professional basketball player. What should my major be?" Think longer-term, and you can't go wrong.

You dont go to college in the first place. Most models are scouted and discovered by agents. My sister's friend was discovered by VNY modeling agency in NY but had no interest in calling them back, most models that are modeling dont even like it but the money is good. If you want to be a model, you can also send your pictures to agencies online, try Ford, Elite, DNA, Wilhelmina, or VNY. I think they have forms on their websites that you can fill out and attach photos with. You can also attend open casting calls where you directly go to an agency on a given date and they'll tell you right there if you are right or wrong for them.

Don't models just get paid to stand there and look good? I'm sure you're not going to find any college courses for that. You need to hook up with a good modeling agency. The below link might be a good place to start.

anything

A college degree isn't required in that profession so your college education is simply for your own benefit and for the job you need to get when modeling isn't working for you.

I'd definitely take a few courses in the theater department in public speaking & voice and diction though - worth a bunch to models.

Some courses in health and nutrition so you don't fall prey to the diet fads but can make informed decisions about what works and why.

Some courses in business (accounting, biz law, marketing) so that you understand how to manage your own business affairs.

Maybe a studio art class in photography so you understand the world from the other side of the lens...

Aside from those, anything you want to major in will be fine, just be passionate about whatever it is.

I would have to say go to a school that is strong in Fashion Merchandising. That would really help you get into the field and have a better understanding about it.
