like chris rock said, "community college is like a disco with books" if you got the money, you're getting in.

you can either do community college the whole way and treat it kind of like a vocational school (i.e. learn a trade, i suggest maybe computers or medical field) or you could use it like a stepping stone to a state college. at least in my state, once you do 2 years of community college, you get an associate degree and you're automatically eligible to transfer to the state university.

and don't worry about possible lack of drive and lackluster grades in high school. if you apply yourself and make an effort in community college (get good grades, get to know your professors and get recommendations and maybe even real world experience) you'll be in as good shape or better than those kids who go straight to college.

this can be a 2nd chance for you. plan accordingly and you can make a lot out of it.

good luck.

Not necessarily. It depends on the college and the location.

I taught at a community college in California where admission was much more lax than they are here in Tennessee. Here there are tests and criteria that you have to meet before you are admitted. However, even back in California where almost anybody got in, if you hadn't yet graduated from high school (or received a GED) you couldn't graduate from community college.

Me personally? I took a GED in my Junior year and entered community college. I had a horrible GPA in high school and ended up with an AWFUL GPA in college -- less than 1.0 I believe. After some work making up a lot of bad grades (I had to do some semesters over) I finally got myself on track.

It took me 7 years to get my 2 year degree, but it was a good experience for me. If I had gone directly into a university I would have been kicked out and lost thousands of dollars.

If you're not a strong (i.e. straight A) student I recommend a community college.

Good luck and let me know if I can offer any help.

Community colleges won't deny you on the basis of your grades. As long as you have a high school diploma they will take you. Now if you wanted to go to a university then you might get in on a C average but I'm not too sure if it would be the best school.

Will not be a problem, but take some time now to work on getting better on the "college stuff." The biggest change you will find from HS to college is the reponsibility you have to seek out additional help (from tutor/study labs).

If you really do well in community colleges , you transfer to 4 year university or ever earn an assoicate degree. They are dirt cheap and you can have loads of fun. You even can join some clubs there.

You can most definitely get into a community college (those types of colleges accept you even if you've failed all your classes).

Your grades are certainly average, so I'm sure you'd even be able to get into a regular university.

You could DEFINALLY get into some kind of community college, but if your looking into scholarships you should probably make sure your SAT scores are good.
(if not, retake it :])
Good Luck,And Congrats on almost graduating!

Anyone can get into a community college, so don't worry.

But if I were you, I would try to get my grades up as much as possible, just because it looks better on transcripts.
