zero. You can be a freelance photographer. Maybe college will help you afford that digital camera.

I don't think you have to go to college to be a photographer. It would help to have training. Once you have a portfolio of your work, you can start getting clients. May ask a local photographer how s/he got started. If you were my son or daughter though, I would want you to pursue photography through a college degree program. More opportunities later.

4 years to get a B of Arts but the trick is to develop your own style of taking photographs. learn to see things differently from most people

you get a bachelor of fine arts with your major in photography. it takes 4 years at most schools. you could probably get a diploma in visual arts instead, that takes 2 years.
