Sat scores fo rthe last two times:

710 writing
650 math
670 crti reading

780 writing
750 math
630 CR ( i was pretty surprised)

The only thing im worried is my critical reading score. They do look at the highest section scores ruight? Because then I have a combined score of 2200.

My GPA is 99.65 out of 100 and my rank should be about 8 or 9 out of 500 students.

My extra-curriculars are alot. Ive been president of Interact Club (rotary international) for the past 2 years, IM co-president of Cultural Awareness Club (i was born in india). I am a news writer fo rshcool newspaper,in french club, a peer tutor and much more. Ive volunteered SO MUCH because of INteract CLub. I volunteer alot during the summers too esp. at hospitals (one being in India). I also

I wrote my essay already about my passion for dancing and how it helps me in so many areas of my life.

I just wanna know what my chances are of getting into NYU, Columbia, UPenn, GWU, & JHU

I have a Master's in math and work full-time at a community college in California. I would like to know if anyone knows where I might find an ONLINE program (short residency okay) for Ph.D. programs in mathematics. The closest thing I can find is a master's or some math "classes" in MBA programs. Help, please!

I'm thinking about switching from business administration to economics major... anyone know if one is generally harder than the other? I'm finding accounting difficult and calculus to be almost impossible...
I like my current macroeconomics class and an econ major would get me out of college faster than the business administration.

so how hard is econ? what does everyone think.. should i switch (I know.. major life decision and I'm asking on Yahoo answers... but I'm just that lost about what to do.)

Also, have no clue what i want to do when i graduate... so thats not really a factor

I will be finishing this degree soon and was wondering if it would be a waste of time to apply to some open positions at some small colleges.

More specifically... I am attending Cal Poly Pomona right now. As a first year it is near impossible to get classes. I havent even got into my freshmen english class yet and will probably take it my sophmore year because of limited classes. I am thinking about taking this class at Mt. Sac community college in the same quarter.

I am a student an undergrad Johns Hopkins Univerisity, which means I have access to the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the #1 Public Health school in the nation. I'm not sure if I want to do this major, only because I don't know if it is versatile enough in case I want to do something completely different with my career. Could I transfer into business after getting a Public Health major? How do people view public health majors, like on resumes?

I am really frustrated by the fact that most colleges and universities in the USA value extracurriculars more than academics. I mean, they accept students that have participated in various extracurricular activities but have done fairly poor in academics. One problem is, I think, that you cannot "measure" these extracurriculars, while you can measure academic performance. Another thing is that academics really reveal the character of a person- whether he is determined to do the hard work or not, while extracurriculars (I view mainly various clubs) do not show this at all. For example, you may be visiting conferences connected with clubs because there you have fun with a lot of people and not because you are doing anything serious. And still most colleges and universities will value more the fact that you have been to 10 conferences, where you actually had parties all the time, than they would value a GPA of 4.0. Which universities value more academics than extracurriculars?

I received an associates degree at age 20. I got a job and work full time for about a year, only to realize that I wanted to go back to school to achieve my life goals. I went back to school at age 21 and found out that most of my classes didn't transfer and really don't count towards anything. So I basically have to start over to receive a bachelor's degree. I'm not sure if I want to be an Engineer or a Pharmacist. And I will be at least 25 years old or older when I graduate. I feel out of place because most people in my classes are younger than me and have progressed further through school at a younger age. Should I finish school or just try to get a job with the education that I already have?

I've looked around on countless websites and plenty of people have asked the same questions. None of my anthro professors have heard of this program and the academic degree required for an ISLP advisor is a BA/BS (hardly prestigious). Has anyone been on this thing before?

I live in Ohio, and I want to go to a University in Minnesota for their College of Biological Sciences, but my mom does not want me to go. She says I'm not thinking, that I will not be able to make it out there or afford anything, and that I should just get a degree here and then transfer to Minnesota if I want to after I do.

But, the thing is, I REALLY want to go to the University of Minnesota, and there will be three other people living with me.

I turn 18 this upcoming September when the Fall 2008 semester classes will be starting, and the people I will be living with are 19, 19, and 21. We'd be living in one of the apartments in the U of MN section of town, where it's cheaper for the students.

Does anyone here have experience with going to college out of state? Will I be able to do it? I'm a hardworker and I'm VERY dedicated- I believe I could do it, but my mom INSISTS that I won't be able to.

Please answer if you have experience, or know someone else that does!!!!!

I had a 3.74 GPA and a 745 on my GMAT?

they said I need experience on my field...I graduated a year ago from a top tier liberal art school.

I don't know what experience has to do with being admitted into Stern...I had better numbers than most people and they where let in. I'm just as prepare as they are if not more.

I'm working with Robert and half finance with a 57k salary with proficiency in 3 languages..I need more and I can only get it by getting a masters.
Penn state accepted me but I consider it a school below me.

I'm looking into housing for next year and so far I don't have a roommate that I think I would get along with well. I study hard and really value my time alone. I just don't know if living alone would be way too lonely. What is it like living alone (most likely in an apartment) at college?

I currently teach, but really do not enjoy it. I do, however, like the children, just not the classroom part. So, I went back for my masters degree in School Counseling. Now that I'm coming to the end, and getting ready to graduate within the next year or so, I wonder if there are any other job opportunities available to me, outside of the school setting.

People always say that you have to go to a "top 25 law school" and graduate in the top 10% to get a good job out of law school. And I can understand that if you live in a large state with several schools. But I live in Mississippi and there are only two law schools: Ole Miss and Mississippi College. Ole Miss generally has the better reputation and it looks like I'm going to graduate in the top third of my class (or better).
Will I have trouble getting a job?

I attend the best private high school in the county. I got a perfect score on my SATs, and finished my high school career with a 3.7 GPA. i took a total of 4 AP classes (all senior year), took an accelerated course in math freshman and sophomore years, and in my sophomore and junior years I took a total of 7 honors classes. I am also a member of national honors society (which in my school is rather difficult to earn membership- a 3.68 GPA, 4 extra curricular activities, and 150 hours of community service are required). Do i have a shot into getting into columbia, georgetown, nyu? I plan to major in finance, so any other top finance schools would also be considered. Thank you

I'm thinking of studying electrical engineering. I have a 3.51 GPA, and SAT score of 2010. I'm in the science honor society, national honor society, and math honor society, and vice president of national honor society. I'm in the charity club, debate team, and ecology club. I've taken dance classes for 10 years, danced on stage MANY times, and singing lessons for 4 years and won first place when singing on stage. I was also a finalist for a vocab competition three times, and went to nationals once. I was also in this biology program where we've won national competitions. I was an intern at lockheed martin.
i've volunteered at a hospital, museum, and taught kids--and i have 300 community service hours. my short story was published once, as well as a scientific paper I've written.

what do you think? thanks.
My first choice is actually UVA.
