I'm looking into housing for next year and so far I don't have a roommate that I think I would get along with well. I study hard and really value my time alone. I just don't know if living alone would be way too lonely. What is it like living alone (most likely in an apartment) at college?

I liked living alone. I lived alone for 2 years and now live with my boyfriend. It is nice because when you live alone, you "find yourself." I know it sounds weird but you realize what kind of person you really are. Don't be afraid of being lonely. It'll force you out of your "comfort zone" and you'll meet new and exciting people.
Although, it is nice to have a roommate for A) security issues and B) to help pay the rent.
Sign up for a 6 month lease (it's perfect b/c you are in college) That way, you have 6 months to decide if you want to live on your own or upgrade apartments and get a roommate. Good luck!!!!

You can take online classes at local community college or a public state university. I don't know if this is your first time attending college but alot of intro classes are online. This summer I graduated from a community college. My last semeser was done strictly online. I work 8-6pm everyday and I live alone as well. The only difference is my schedule is set. However, if you do decide to go to an online university. I would suggest CTU online. Don't worry this school is accredited and financial aid will work with you. How do I know? I use to work there.

Looking back on it, that's the one thing I would have done differently: I would have chosen to live alone. You'll make plenty of friends either way, but you have absolutely no privacy with a roommate. And living in a small space with a person you don't know can be a nightmare.

I did it for my last two years of college, and since I, too, value my "alone time", it worked well for me. However, you do have to watch yourself so that you don't become too isolated, because no one is going to force you to get out there and keep a balanced life. The other drawback, of course, is that living alone is generally more expensive than sharing.
