Hey, I worked as a hotel reservationist for 2 years at a Best Western hotel in Devon UK.
I had to take reservations, answer calls, check guests in and out, book conferences, administration, type letters, banking and serveral other administration duties.
It was great fun and Im now working as a hotel software company making software for hotels!¬!

"Most reservation agents, work for large hotel chains or airlines to help people plan trips and make reservations. They usually work in large central offices answering telephone inquiries and offering suggestions on travel arrangements. Frequently asked questions deal with routes, time schedules, rates, and types of accommodation. Agents also quote fares and room rates. They also make and confirm transportation and hotel reservations for customers. After a ticket has been purchased arrangements are made for it to be sent or picked up by the traveler. A travel booklet containing tickets, a copy of itinerary, written lodging confirmations, pertinent credit cards, and travel suggestions is a helpful tool for customers."
