He is upset because someone said he was a fat ugly nerd who cant get a woman. He says he wants to email it to our school dean. However considering the fact that no threat was made or racial or sexual slurs how high will this email be on the priority list of the dean?

Saying something like that can be really hard on a person's self esteem. I think that your "acquaintance" has every right to be upset about it, but going to the dean is probably not going to do much. It's like running to your parents just because your older brother decided to call you stupid. What can they really do about it other than tell the person not to do it again? This instance is not really significant enough to warrant something like suspension or expulsion.

It sounds like what he really needs to do is talk to the person who called him that. He should explain that he was very hurt by the comment, and find out the reasons for the statement.

Being upset about this is not chidish or immature. However, forwarding the Email to the dean is.
