Vanderbilt & Wake are best for pre-med, Duke for prelaw.
UGA will be perfectly adequate for either, if you select the right courses & earn excellent grades.
I'm partial to Wake Forest because it's not so huge. But I think a State U education is the smart thing for undergrad, unless you're getting a free ride with scholarships. You'll need the money for grad school!

The first three are among the best in the nation. UGA is a diploma mill. Vanderbilt grads I know are snobs. The same with Duke. If it were me choosing, I would check out Wake Forest first. Its a very small school with a big time reputation. It also has a pretty good Division One sports program like Duke and Vandy.

All are good schools but:
Duke > Vanderbilt > Wake Forest > University of Georgia
Duke is much better than the other three. Vanderbilt and Wake Forest are close. Georgia is not as good as the other three. In fact, if you want a public university in Georgia, then Georgia Tech would be a better choice.
----- Edit -----
I don't understand Mirabella's comments about Duke. They have one of the best Health Science programs in the world -- as well as one of the best medical schools. In addition, his comments about size don't make sense. Duke only has about 4,000 undergraduates.

Emory also has an excellent reputation for the medical field and law, and it is in GA. It is not cheap either though.
Of the ones you have listed they are ranked in my head
Duke,
Wake Forest,
Vanderbilt,
UGA

Prestige-wise, UGA is way below the other 3. Take out loans if you have to, or apply for scholarships or financial aid. Its worth it to go to a really stellar college--it will pay for itself--and it's even more important to go to a college with a good reputation if you want to go to law or med school. Think about it--say there's one applicant from Duke and one from UGA to the top law school in the country, and they have the same scores, GPA, etc. The law school would obviously choose the person from Duke.

If you can get into Duke, you would be insane not to go there. Vanderbilt is for rich white kids, and the other two i don't know much about
