The first year of an MBA program, you take the same courses everyone else does, including entry-level management accounting. You could take extra courses during the summer in preparation for the second year when you would take extensive accounting and finance courses. Most people don't have accounting when they go in, and some do concentrate in it during the second year. You need to put in extra study time but it can be done (I did moderately well in cost accounting).

This all really depends on your background. Achieving an MBA is difficult. The accounting concentrate will require you to take additional accounting/finance classes for the degree.

I would recommend you try two things: temp in an accounting position to make sure it is what you truly desire to accomplish. Secondly, review the employment section of your local paper. See what employers are requiring for the position you wish to obtain with the MBA.

You cannot achieve an MBA in accounting. If you want to be an accountant you go to undergrad accounting and then study for your CPA. You can earn an MBA in general business or with an emphasis in a given area, but I don't believe one of those is accounting.

it shouldn't. business schools accept students with various backgrounds. However, if you don't have an accounting background, they might make you take a few extra classes. no big deal.
