After I finished m exam, I passed it in. I never got my graded exam back, and my grade was never posted online, so I was a little worried. When I talked to my professor, he said that if it wasn't online it was never graded, and that they found an exam still in the testing location. The exam was mine. I think my prof. might try to make me retake the exam. Don't you think the fault lies with him, though? What should I do?

I think the school has policies about that, and he should follow those policies.

If you already took the exam, why worry about taking it again?

And you "think" he might have you take it again? Why not ask him?

If you really did pass it in, how did it get left in the testing area? Where was it? By his desk or yours? Or on the floor?

All those issues will be considered by whomever decides what to do next.

It seems to me that all you should do, besides stopping being so defensive and blaming, is wait. You took the exam, he has your exam.

Why would you have to retake it if they found it? I lost an exam this semester (the student took it as a make-up exam, and I think I accidentally threw it away), and I had to give her full credit for it. I would argue that asking you to restudy for the exam they know you already took puts an undue burden on you now that you should be putting your efforts into studying for subsequent exams. If they can't give you credit for this one, could they shift the percentages of other exams you take for the course to be worth more?

His fault only if you can prove you sat the exam at the same time everyone else did. Ask your classmates to confirm to your professor you were there (some people will have seen you) and he should then mark the paper he has.

If that fails, your professor is a w****r.

Sit the exam again! It will only cost you a couple of hours of your time, and you're bound to get better results the second time around.
Don't try to get your professor into trouble, how you handle this situation will shape his opinion of you, which in turn will affect your education.

Demand that he gives you full marks because he can not prove other wise.

go to the head of the department and complain. if you complain to his boss then it will make him look bad and they may punish him for it. if that dont work then go up even higher.
