and if i wanted to do criminal profiling .. what would i major in?

A forensic physchologist uses his or her skills to get details of a crime using psychology. You would need to get a Phd in Psychology for this.

For Criminal Profiling I would recommend a BA in Criminal Justice or Criminology with some Psychology background (a minor). I highly recommend a Masters degree in Criminal Justice or Criminology. I dont know who hires Criminal Profilers to be honest with you. The FBI would be a good place for this type of field.

Clinical Forensic psychologists work with clients who are mentally ill and also have committed crimes. Sometimes, they work with police as "profilers" attempting to help police solve crimes. Other times they work with the client AFTER they have been apprehended. They will testify in court as to mental state at various stages of trial and punishment.
