im already running Norton internet security 2006 with Go Back. now bt are prompting me to uninstall it so that i can download their version. this is the message i get:
Norton AntiVirus™ not available until you uninstall Norton Internet Security 2006 (Symantec Corporation).
should i do this or not? anyone know what the difference between the two is? apart from the fact that mine cost me money while bts is free?

my computer has a trojan running through it that has blocked all admin. functions on my computer. I can not add/delete files, system restore. Does anyone have any ideas how to get them off my system with out having to wipe my hard drive? It won't let me install anti-virus/ anti-spyware software

I don't know much about computers and need to get into my hard drive to retrieve some MSN messages. By the way I have not been saving my messages so will they be there? The more details the better because I am lost as to how to do this. Also if you delete something from the recycle bin is it gone forever? Thank you

I am currently useing IE with zonealarm but zonealarm slows down my login time and i was wondering if mozilla's firewall will stop hackers. I dont care bout viruses cause I can get rid of them with ease but i have had people hack into my computer and use my internet.

My pc has been attcked by trojan , and reformatted because of it. And now trojan is back again even after formatting all thumb drives and external devices. I have an avg anti-virus that detected trojan again and isolated them. But the problem is trojan is affecting system files(49 files), if I remove them, what will happen to the pc normal operations?

I bought a computer that came with a 60 day trail of Norton Antivirus 2006 (NAV6) well, it expired. Now I went out and bought Norton Antivirus 2007 (NAV7) and tried installing it. First it told me to get rid of NAV6. So I tried, it wouldn't let me for some reason. It froze when it got towards the end, so I closed it out. When I tried to uninstall it again, it kept saying there was a problem and gave me a link. I clicked it and went to their website, right? Well they said I was able to get a free download of NAV7...so I took it seeing if I'd get any luck. Well, I did. This time NAV7 installed from the file they gave me, but now it wants an activation code. I tried putting the code in that I got from the one I bought at Walmart, but it keeps saying invalid code? What should I do?

my network admin turned off active x and other plug-ins on all company computers. i can't turn back on without admin priviliges. is there a way to by-pass the admin to turn these things on? similarly, i cannot install (for example Netscape) without admin permission. how can i get around this??

i had a call from a guy harris county jail, i accepted it cuz it was my work fone and just to see how scams are. the guy gave me a number and said to call her wife and give her a message to pick her daughter up from jail. starting from *72. i called the phone number first and asked for the name but it was a wrong number. then i thouht to try *72 knwing it was scam. but the call didn't go thru. machine said please check the number bla bla bla.
do u think i fell victim of this scam and activated the call forward thing. do i need to do something.
i called from other phone it still rings though.

I tried all suggestions that some of you recommended, but nothing worked. I can't afford to pay any of the websites, so is there something I can do to kill my virus? The problem is that for example if I go to the website www.infinity.com, it takes me to some other website. I use firefox too, and it does it there also. How can I get rid of the redirec virus in my computer?

I have an installation of Win98se on a HDD. There are over 1,600 viruses on that HDD, mostly the virus W32.Virut.A. It's infected a billion windows system files. It's preventing me from doing full system scans on the drive. It stops at about 16,000 files. I've used two virus checkers, and it's stopping at the same point. If anyone knows of a good virus scanner to run from DOS, then lemme know.

I recently ran a virus scan on my computer using Norton Anti Virus. The results showed that i had a downloader trojan. The file name was ps2vqapatch.exe. Norton then told me to quarantine the file. After I quarantined the file, Norton told me to delete it. When I tryed to delete it, Norton said "deletion failed". I then ran another virus scan using Ad-Aware and the file didn't even show up on the report. Has anyone else found this trojan on their computer? Does anyone know what program i could use to delete it?
