the program itself isn't illegal, downloading cracked software, copyrighted mp3's etc is the illegal part.

No limewire is not illegal. They provide a service that allows users to "network" ad "share" files. They do not host any content.
The files you find using limeware are often illegal to trade. Some are illegal to HAVE!
Those trading copywrited material are breaking lots of laws but that is not the fault of limewire. That is the fault of the user that is making the file available.

Using Limewire, Morpheus or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, to download any copyrighted music, movies, software etc. in illegal in the USA.
The software itself is legal. What most people use the software for is not. Think of a gun. Owning a gun is legal, shooting people with it is not.
It is very rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this girl here:

Also, many of the files that are downloaded using these programs are bundled with viruses, trojans, spyware, and adware. Always scan everything you download using any P2P program with your anti-virus and anti-spyware software before you use then.

limewire itself is not illegal, but some installs of it are infected. if you got a parasite by installing limewire, here's a removal:

also you have to remember, that it's not legal to have most mp3s, dvds, games and other stuff downloaded. you should buy those things, not to download and use it without authors' permission.

No, just like a radar detector. Its how you use it that may determine its legality or illegality.
I have yet to find a legitamate use for it though. Downloading music, illegal, movies, illegal, whats left games and software, illegal.

First of All...LIMEWIRE is hard spyware...it will demolish your computer system. My humble request NOT TO USE THIS SOFTWARE AT ALL.....
Better to use Bittorrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.
