I second the person who recommended AVG. Norton is rubbish, always was, I don't know about the BT thing but I do know that AVG is very good and FREE.
You could see out your remaining contract with Norton but for me it's like the choice between a quick lift home in a comfortable car and using the return half of a bus ticket, I know which one I'd choose.

you should use Norton uninstaller - yet this received't get rid of this methodology completly. ideal to apply a elimination software like "Your Uninstaller" which eliminates each and everything. in case you'll reload Norton then the Norton Uninstaller must be high-quality. :)

Uninstall Norton it's rubbish!
Norton bogs down PCs!
Norton does not find many viruses!
Norton requires you to pay for licence!
AVG is extremely good!
AVG does not affect machine's speed!
AVG will find viruses that Norton will not detect!
AVG is, best of all FREE!
Do not listen to BT, download AVG 7.5 Free edition, download AVG anti spy-ware, from the Grisoft web site,
then get the Symantec Norton removal tool, from the www,(Master Geeks web site).
Disconnect your PC from the web(you don't want to get a virus as your machine is now unprotected!).
When you have got rid of Norton, then you can install AVG.
When all is working OK, you can reconnect machine to the WWW!
Don't try to run 2 anti virus programs, as one will detect the other as a virus!

I have to agree with Timmy, keep what you have. I'm with BT and when I first got my computer I had about a month free on there, I couldn't put BT's free version on there until it ran out. BT's version is ok. But if you got it already, keep that version.

seems i recall bt having only a trial with norton, and than you are expected to pay
so you would be best off keeping your own protection on your pc

I use the free edition from BT & have found it to be great. There's regular updates & their customer care has been excellent in my opinion.
Why don't you give it a go, you could always revert back to the one you pay for?

Go to control panel - then add /remove program. It is worth keeping Norton for the period you have paid for.

Don't install BTs software. It won't be as good as what you have installed already.
