I tried all suggestions that some of you recommended, but nothing worked. I can't afford to pay any of the websites, so is there something I can do to kill my virus? The problem is that for example if I go to the website www.infinity.com, it takes me to some other website. I use firefox too, and it does it there also. How can I get rid of the redirec virus in my computer?

Despite my great protection, I once had a virus that wouldn't go away. The only way I got rid of it was to use System Restore and reverted my computer to an earlier time, before the virus was on my computer. It went away after that.

Which virus is it that you have? If the only problems you are noticing are with regards to websites being redirected, you may just have a web-browswer hijack. It is not uncommon. There are numerous freeware anti-virus programs, and you should try to use a few different ones to get the virus (make sure to get the most recent virus definitions). If it's just a web browser hack for Mozilla Firefox, use your Internet Explorer browser temporarily. You can delete the Firefox browser and then re-install it.

Ok, that kind of behavior means that your system has probably been hijacked. Time to hit the anti-Spyware programs; as a last resort use HiJackThis. Good luck.

you can try A2 sqared, it s free, but update it before you run it, takes a while to run. it might help, or search your system for the bad guy, and delete it.
