Usually a "site" doesn't contain viruses, just the files you download off the site. That's not to say it never happens, but most viruses are not spread via web-surfing - it's usually email or downloads.

You can collect spyware and there are sites the "phish" for information from you. In those cases you can use any of the products listed already.

Also, when visiting a site that starts with httpS (instead of http) only indicates the traffic between your computer and the website is encrypted but NOT free from any of the badness we talking about here.
