I got an email from someone, through yahoo id, and I would like to know who and where that person would be?

use the header info in the email to trace it back to a point of origin.

That will give you the ISP, IP address (can find country with that) and a bit more info.

Yahoo won't give up any personal details that the user has not put into a profile unless you get a court order.

If the email is a sudden love letter after a 3 minute conversation on messenger, it's a scam!

you can check http://profiles.yahoo.com/{userid}

e.g. http://profiles.yahoo.com/saqibfobia

This will only work if the user has populated his/her profile
