if i find this on my list of programmes installed, is this a good thing? is it meant to be there?

I checked my program list and don't have this; get rid of it!
Check you have Ad-Aware SE Personal;

I think you will find that this is part of the ad-ware plug ins that you install when you click ADD-ONS, so only remove if you no longer wish to use the plugin any more.

Are you sure it says ad ware and not AdAware?

AdAware is a respected anti-spyware program that does offer some plug-ins for their basic program.

No!, remove it, and install/use ad-aware se* you will be amazed at the things it finds................

try firefox by mozilla you wont get the spyware coming through like with explorer
