I bought Norton Internet Security 2004 a few years ago and installed it on my PC running on Windows XP Professional. I have paid for the annual updates every year, but this year I decided to buy Norton Internet Security 2007 because of the great rebate on it. Do I need to uninstall the 2004 version on my computer before installing the new 2007 version or will my computer automatically override it? Also, even if I do not need to uninstall it, would I save more hard drive space by uninstalling it first? Thank you!

I am specifically concerned about backdoor viruses, trojan horses etc. Softwares MUST have real time protection. Please do not recommend AVG, Avast. Norton Internet Security 2007 wasn't able to detect a severe backdoor trojan in my system. It was a sasser worm which is very hard to identify & remove.

whenever I use my friends usb I gets a chinese google toolbar on my internet explorer and a new home page bydou.com which returns itself automatically whenever I change it,furthermore I get my windows firewall turned off automatically .I have an avg antivirus and antispyware before doing anything with that usb I scanned it with both, but after using it the problem started.

I have heard a lot about Active Virus Shield. It runs on the Kaspersky Engine and is free. However, I have a few dilemmas.

1) The website seems like a GET ME NOW! sort of website.
2) There is some type of controversy about the EULA.
3) It is by AOL...

A few days back a question was put by a member, Cman, about how to remove the pop ups from a website called ADS.K8L.INFO.

Following the suggestions, I have run spybot, adaware and runalyzer. However all have failed to remove it. Spybot catches the bot everytime but even after 'fixing' it, the problem recurs.

Someone PLEASE help me with the removal of this ads.k8l.info pop ups. I requet cman also to please share his technique for overcoming this problem.

I have eTrust Ez Antivirus, and when I started up my computer this morning a pop-up came up andsaid I had an infection, so I opened the program to scan the computer so I can get rid of the infection... but it doesn't find it!
How could it tell me that I have a infection, but not ba able to find it to get rid of it?
