The best way to get rid of them, is to never contract them in the first place. In my opinion that requires LAYERS of protection: first a hardware firewall, then a software firewall, then a GOOD anti-virus, anti-trojan, and anti-spyware software. And finally, the one least talked about and least used but, in my opinion, most important, a good back-up program. This, unfortunately, requires research, but you have already taken the first step, and that is half the battle. Good luck.

Go on aol.com and sign up for a free membership if you dont already have one. They give you free antivirus software which you download and then scan your computer and it gets rid of all your known and unknown viruses.
