I have eTrust Ez Antivirus, and when I started up my computer this morning a pop-up came up andsaid I had an infection, so I opened the program to scan the computer so I can get rid of the infection... but it doesn't find it!
How could it tell me that I have a infection, but not ba able to find it to get rid of it?
What do I do?

several options
get your anti-virus up todate and do a full scan (which it seems you have done)
if thats clean than perhaps the pop up you say may of been spyware
get adaware se spersonal
www.lavasoft.com
get update, reboot and do a full scan

spybot also is a good choice

find some other anti virus software and run that too. Get AVG free version off the net somewhere and try running that to scan for infections

If it's a Trojan virus it will move to files that you have already scanned.
I would set up your virus scanner to scan your hard drive when you boot up before your other programs start working, that way if it is a Trojan, it can't move.

Was the pop-up from eTrust? You may have spyware which is trying to trick you into buying their bogus antivirus software.
