The Norton on Yahoo is a free spyware program that is an optional addition to the free Yahoo toolbar. It is not the same thing as Norton Anti-Virus.

You can't get Norton from Yahoo but you can get other antivirus programs for free. It depends on which ISP you have. Cox cable has one. So does SBC Yahoo DSL as does Verison. I've heard that AOL does but haven't seen it. There are also some AV's that are free for a limited time as trialware. Some of those are AVG Free Antivirius, Avast! etc.

Personally I think Norton takes up far too many system resources and is expensive.

Download Zone Alarm's free version (www.zonealarm.com) for a great firewall and Grisoft's AVG anti-virus software (www.grisoft.com) for a simple, free alternative to the big, bloated Norton and McAfee.

no "intenet security suites" are available for free, some of them are available for free as trial, with limitations on software and or time period that you could use it for, mostly like 14-90 days.

if u could look forward to buy another year of subscription online or your nearest best buy or CC.

other thoughts - norton isn't a good antivirus anymore, Trend Micro's PC CILLIN is faster scanning and will not slow down your computer, just a personal comment from my user experience

I think that could be the problem. I would suggest looking more into the program to find out.
