You could have a spyware shutting down your firewall, try a second opinion with Bitdefender, I have AVG also and sometimes they don't get everything, but they are pretty darned good. They also have a free forum at Griswalt, I have checked things out there and you can post. I am assuming you have XP? Even if your using Microsoft Firewall there is warning of shutdowns or at least there should be--I get a little yellow balloon popup if something goes wrong. You could try AVG in softmode also. Good luck. As spyware I use Adaware SE Personal and SpyBot Search and Destroy and free version a-squared, searches out malware, and I have pd version of Trend Micro and a free version Microsft Defender, I am sure I got alot and probaly not all that needed. I have gotten a virus once a year and NO spyware so not doing badly.

Hey Dude,
You got hit with the "I did it myself" virus.
It use to be that we would get viruses through back doors. More recently, the trojans, virus, and worms are coming to our front doors, knocking for us to let them in, and we do!
Remember the old Saturday Night Live, "Land Shark" routine. This is it!.
Now, how to get rid of it. Here are some suggestions. You already have AVG. Make sure it is up to date.
HTTP://housecall.trendmicro.com This will do a live scan for you.
Here are a bunch more to try....
If the pop ups appear when you're online, activate your browsers pop up blocker. Go to tools - internet options - block pop ups.
But if they appear on your pc when you're not connected to the net then you have either spyware or adware on your pc. Run Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE Personal to get rid of them.
http://www.grisoft.com – AVG antivirus
http://www.avast.com – Avast antivirus
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org... - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Also use Microsoft Defender and their online scans.
And these are useful utilities:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com
http://www.mozilla.com/ - Firefox web browser.
http://www.ccleaner.com Cr*pcleaner Registry cleaner and privacy tool
Winpatrol is a handy utility that manages cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

http://www.siteadvisor.com -MacAffee Site Advisor warns about malware on sites you are about to visit.

Firewall is something that prevents you from entering into any malicious sites...
The USB doesn't affect your firewall...
Furthermore, a virus can't turn off a Firewall....!
Maybe, you need to remove BYDOU.COM on your home page...

Scan your PC for viruses, trojans, malware, adware and spyware.
You may be infected so update your virus software and scan immediately.
Your browser has been hijacked. Download Hijack This and read the tutorial on how to use it.
It'll tell you right away whether or not your browser has been haxored.

Windows Firewall is pointless anyway. It's probably best for you to keep it off! If you have a router with firewall in, that should be adequate.
