You can send offline instant messages to someone, and if they are in fact online then they will recieve them, but they may not respond if they are pretending to be offline.

There is however a clitch if people have msn plus. You can set msn so that it will display song information from windows media player or itunes if they are listing to music. Some people forget that this remains on while appearing offline, and if you check their name, you might notice that there name will say (EG:) 'tom; track1, artist1'. If your really observant, then you might see the song change to the next track

I use to know a site where u can check the status of the person to see if she is really Invivisble or not online but i forgot it or try searching on the sites for msn messenger checker

Yes there is... its a type of spyware which also incorporates a keylogger enabling the "spy" to see what the other person is typing...including passwords!!
However I havent seen it commercially available and as it contravenes the 1974 dataprotection act I'm not at liberty to tell you what it's called in case you "mis-use" it. Sorry.

But it is out there!
