Every now and then when I'm using my PC, the keyboard starts to work slowly. Insteadd of each letter working imediately, I have to pause between letters. This happens on the internet and in any local programme, word for instance. I've been told I could have a virus, but despite having Norton and AVG, I can't find anything. Anyone have any ideas about this??

I would like to be, the only person who can get access to the letters and documents, I have saved in Microsoft Word.

Can someone please tell me, if it is possible to install a PASSWORD, that must be given, before a saved file can be opened?

As I am an old man, not too well and now a wee bit slow, please explain the steps I have to take, in very simple (non jargon) language.

I will be so grateful.

How can I get a response from Symantec about my anti-virus program I purchased. It has been charged to my credit card, and I can't get any response from them. I received a confermation of my order, but when I try to check my order status it says can't locate order. I hate to think that a company like Norton would use my credit card without getting my product to me. On the confermation, it said it would be shipped to my address, that has been over a week ago. I called my credit card company and it has been charged to my account. What can I do?

I have a question. Thanks in advance for your help!

For a hacker to get someone's password, does the computer user have to first either get a virus and/or let a hacker get past the firewall, and after all that, does the hacker then have to figure out the password?

I'm just trying to figure out if a hacker can take control over passwords by simply figuring them out, or does the computer user first have to get a virus and/or let someone get past the firewall.

If someone gets a virus and someone gets past the firewall, does that pretty much means your passwords are going to be affected/compromised, or do they have to get past the final step of cracking your password?

I have Windows XP. I was notified that I was infected with Trojan and other viri. It was suggested to down load various free scans. Pest Capture was my choise only because it was the first one. After download and free scan it reported that I had malware and spyware viri and I should purchase the license to continue. Since I don't like to give credit card info over the Net I declined. Now I have this Huge dialogue Pest Capture box on my screen and am unable to delete because it states the "uninstall or remove has been disabled". And it's TRUE. I went into the Control Panel to Add or Remove.....etc. and can't delete it.......A close friend suggested that I Re-Format my Windows XP but being a novice I"m not sure if I could do it. I got a price of $50 but I would really like to see if I could do it myself. It's not the cost I'd just like to try. I've been looking to up-date to a better computer anyway (this one's 10-yrs. old) so I couldn't do any more damage. Can someone walk me thru it?
