When they started making their platform changes in about Oct-Nov. Than they just stuck the anti virus in with it. Has anyone had problems with their auto update or their call center responses...i.e.: Different answers from different tech's.....having their answers be completely different.

I have noticed though a network monitor that my computer is constantly sending and receiving over the internet. The process is java.exe. I have tried closing the java.exe through task manager, but it keeps reappearing. Assuming that another application is using java, i have closed every program in my system tray and all the processes I could shut down in task manager, but no luck. I am a bit worried about some program sending information to some spyware company or somthing. Ad-aware, spybot etc report nothing. Anyone can help?

Whenever I open Internet Explorer it always goes to this other weird site instead of my home page.

Then a pop up comes up even though i have a pop-up blocker that almost works perfectly all the time.

And so now I am almost unable to do anything, because after a few seconds i'm redirected back to that weird page that tells me to download something (I haven't btw)

So how do i remove this crap from my computer? Is there a process or a program? and how can I stop this from happening anytime soon?

I am using McAfee and I am not happy with the results. Along with McAfee, I am also using Spysweeper as a backup and Spysweeper picks up ifections that McAfee leaves behind. I have used Norton in the Past (Norton SystemWorks 2002-2004), but I really started to get frustrated with them. Has Norton Improved. What about Microsoft's One Touch? Any Other Suggestions would be Helpful. Thank You!

A backdoor trojan was downloaded on my computer yesterday. I currently have Webroot and downloaded the anti-virus after the virus was already on my computer. I ran the Webroot and it said it quarantined several different trojan files. 1. Is my computer safe now? 2. Do I need to do a system restore? 3. If I do a system restore, how can I backup the upgrade on my webroot for the antivirus? I know this is cram packed with questions, but I just want to make sure that I'm not doing anything to screw my computer up!!! Thank you for your answers....

I had a spyware problem recently.I have a couple of anti-spyware and anti-malware stuff and I cleaned up my PC.When I scan now,there's
nothing found, and the initial spyware is quarantined. Also,in the "processes" window of the Task manager there was something running which was obviously something that had to do with that spyware (I know all the processes that are running normally and also this appeared as soon as the spyware was installed). So I stopped it and deleted the corresponding file from the disk.

In the end everything seems to be ok, but people all over the internet tell that removing malware from your PC is not an easy story...
Is there a possibility that there is a spyware-problem in my PC even that AVG anti-spyware,AVG anti-virus,Lavasoft Ad-aware,and Spybot show nothing after the scan?!?!

I have two hard disks. My system is on one of them.If there's a spyware in the system disk, does that mean that my files on the other disk are secure?
Is that the same for partitions?
Anyway,does spyware "infects" other files?
What about my question in case of a virus?!

I heard from this computer programming professor at school that most computer viruses are spread by anti-virus software makers such as Norton. He said if there were no computer viruses, they would go out of business. He said they would deny whole-heartdly of such accusations but that's the way it is. He said they have their covert-team of computer virus makers who are hired to specifically engineer computer viruses. Is this true? When I heard this, I was shocked.
