why is it that some of the programes you can delete through the remove change programs section on the control panel...and some wont shift no matter what you do....you put remove and it stays there.it goes through the motions of remove but ..nothing..

I'm not sure if this is a cirus or spyware or whatever, but I keep getting popups when I'm not online. I have comcast high speed so the internet is always on, which explains the popups.. but the popups are weirdd, like penis enlargement pills and adult friend finder? I don't know why I'm getting these, but my aim is also sending everyone on my buddy list weird links that when you clicking on them gives them a virus. I can't even go on my computer because it's so messed up! Help!!

every time my wife uses microsoft word and trys to download something from the net or open a file,it opens my private folders.no matter how hard i try to hide them.im trying to keep her bday present ideas a secret.so my question is why does word do this and how can i have folders only i can open????

Can some please recommend a really good free and safe spyware/malware search and remove download? My computer has been hijacked and the spyware/malware is attaching itself to my emails. When I attempted to open an email my PC cillin blocks it and states that it has prevented confidential info from being passed through the web. Im glad it blocks it but its not removing the spyware/malware. Help!

I have a new computer. Windows XP, SP2. I am having a problem seeing pictures and video on websites I go to. I've changed IE explorer settings, many times. I've upgraded to IE 7. No help. I've tinkered with my firewall, security settings. I've turned ALL security off. And still, no pictures. I thought maybe it was a Java thing. Tried reloading that. Nothing. Turned off Pop Up Blocker. Nothing. I tried downloading Adobe Flash Player. It won't let me load it. Nothing happens. I'm not getting any messages from the Information Bar in IE. I'm at my wits end. Anything you may know to try would be helpful.

My computer is infected and Virusbuster can`t seem solve the problem. This virus came with a Limewire download and immediately changed my homepage to http://sex.com although I could`t access any websites at all including that one from the moment of infection. I switched from broadband to cable and can now use the net with slightly reduced speed but I`d like to zap the virus and go back to broadband. Does anyone have experience beating this virus? Which software is best for this particular virus? Any ideas?

I got a worm through Limewire. I know better but I opened something I shouldn't have. So anyway no I can't get rid of it. I am running XP. It seems to have altered what ever file that tells XP what programs to start because it is running when I go to Trendmicro and starts everytime I boot my computer so It can't be deleted.
It seems to have disabled Ctrl+Alt+Del because I cannot run task manager to stop it. I also can't run regedit to search for it.
I don't know how to start in Safe Mode in XP nor do I know how to get to a command prompt. I knew old Windows pretty well but I am not up on the differences in XP, although I am finding out quickly.
All you Techies out there, if you can even give me a little bit of info on each one of my failing I would appreciate it.

I have AVG Free, Norton Internet Security, Ad-Ware SE Personal, and SBC Yahoo Anti Spy ware. Some how the Trojan Horse BD.Agent.2.H still managed to get threw. It is taking over my whole system a little at a time. Does any body out there have any ideal of a way that I can get rid of this with out costing me any money. I do not work any where at all. You can read my profile to know what is going on with me now. I need help here with this. If need be I will talk to someone over the phone to talk me threw this problem as I know very very little about computers. Please someone, will you please help me out, I use this computer all the time. Please help me if you can.

At the bottom of the message on OE, it said No virus found in this message. Checked by AVG Free edition. How can I get rid of that popup? Clicking on it or on the rotating icon near the clock doesn't get rid of it.

I've done a norton anit virus scan and thats clear, i've also done spyware and adware checks and thought i'd cleared that but everytime i go on my internet a 2nd explorer opens up in the task bar about YOUR COMP IS AT RISK! and all this kind of annoying stuff all the time. an anyone tell me what this is and what i can do to get rid of it? thanks in advance for your help

I receive a message from my antivirus (avast) that a Trojan Horse is entering my computer... Is weird 'cose I'm behind a firewall in a students residence (with an intern net). Is there any program to find out where does the Trojan Horse come from?? If it's from my own net or from a site I've been connected?
