No don't resotre. Its prob in your system restore files also. They tend to do that. Dowload these files.
Ad-ware
Search and Destroy
AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5

update and run the scans in safe mode if you can. To get to safe mode. restart press F8 when you see the BIOS loading. Select safe mode. Make your you have already installed the programs and updated them with the lastest def's. Run AVG first clean everything it finds and save the report. Then run the other two. If it doesn't fix it. You will need a more spesific program to clean the problem. Thats why saving your log from AVG will come in handy. Need help e-mail me

You can't uninstall a virus, and you likely will not be able to remove it by doing a system restore. If you have a browser hijacker, it isn't a virus, it's spyware. One of the answers told you to get SpyBot and Ad-Aware. They are both free from download.com.

Get them both, and since they don't always come with the latest updates, after you have installed them and before you run either of them, get the latest updates for each one. Immunize your computer in SpyBot before running a full bot check. this will most likely find your hijacker and tell you what it is. Whatever SpyBot finds, click on Fix Selected Problems and they will be removed.

In Ad-Aware, full a full system scan the first time, thereafter, you can run a Smart Scan, which will still find malware, but in much less time.

Sometimes that works. Sometimes that is the only way to remove viruses before going to more drastic methods.

Uninstall often does not work. Once viruses are running, virus scanners do not always work.

Sometimes restore points do not even work.

The only surefire way is to re-install.

I have posted a much longer more detailed way of getting rid of viruses when re-install is not desired. It take a lot of knowledge and is not an easy or a quick process.

It is one possibility but a better one is to install and run an anti-virus service.

No, go to add/remove programs and remove it. Get you some anti-virus and spyware killer too.

It may work, give it a try. You can also try to delete it in safe mode, here are instructions if you need it http://www.basicspywaretips.com/getridofspyware.html
