SECURITY has become juglary for country to spend money and for computer companies to make money ! !
I have Mac cafee of AOL,Trendmicro ,Symantec and Microsoft because kids in my home use my computer at random carelessly.How can be simple ?Which one I should avoid.(Though suscriber of AOL I am avoiding Maccafee) but still I want to be simpler and economical.

Just bought a new laptop and when I fired it up it picked up a remote Belkin wireless signal which gives me internet access.

Firstly, is this illegal or will it get me in the poo and secondly is it risky re the integrity of my system.

Im waiting for my own wireless connection anyway, but Im intrigued now.

Though creating a malware or virus is an offence and attracts punishment, I think the people who create them must be geniuses to have known how to penetratre security blocks and get bad things done.

But how do they create these viruses and malware ?
What computer language do they use ?
How does a virus work in harmony with an operating system ?

Could somebody explain these things in detail, please ?

how is it possible to have people right click an image and they think they saved that image but when they look at that file, the image is completely different?

It has something to do with a hidden .gif or an image.
a website or code would be much appreciated.

Help! I am a teacher who had the entire system at my school today become infected with what we think is a worm. We know all was okay for those on the server until one particular computer was hooked in (from a teacher who had it at home) then everyone connected to the server began having shutdowns wierd messages and their computer saying it had up to 350 other users on it. Our computer tech has worked all day and into the night now and says she is baffled... Anyone know of a new worm? Or other info ?? Suggestions?? It seems to be after Windows 2000 in particular (not those with XP) but don't know - I was luckily lazy this morning and didn't connect to the server...

I heard that if you bring your computer in to be fixed they can see which sites you go on. Well what if you go on 'story' sites? Is there any way to delte that info so theres no way for them to find out that go on the sites??

We are having some trouble with Norton Antivirus ---Paid them on line with credit card, but they have not yet renewed our virus protection . My husband e-mailed them about a week ago and has not yet received an answer. I say we should write to Norton Antivirus ---paper, ink, and regestered mail. But we can't find their mailing address.
