Neither,
Use NOD32, trust me it is 10x better than Norton and most stuff out there.

Symantec is the name of the company. Norton is the name of the product line. So, you are referring to the same thing - there is no difference.
It seems to be the norm on Yahoo Answers to slam Norton products. However, if you look at some independant reviews you'll find that Norton consistently comes in the top 5, whereas virtually all the others recommended here do not.
Here's one:

Choose who you want to believe - independant experts? Or a bunch of amateurs on Yahoo? Your choice.

It is the same product.
In my opinion and experience Norton has not been the most favorite Anti virus. You might want to try a free one that appears to be getting excellent reviews. It is called AVG Antivirus. Before you shell out $ try the following software out:

they are the same, you will get the same protection on either, you will also be better protected with norton than you will with avg or avast which catch alot less and have more problems
best to be protected than use a lesser program and get problems

Neither they are both crap, the problem is they are so well known the virus writers set out to target them. I would opt for avast free,AVG free, or Zone Alarm all free and very good protection.
