The best Trojan removing program available is ewido (also called AVG Antispyware). You can do a free online scan that also removes any infections, or download the program. It is a full function 30 day trial. At the end it reverts to an on demand scanner. It still removes the infections as a free version.

Removing a specific trojan will often require a specific tool
Search here for free removal tools if you can identify the particular trojan/virus in question
Symantec

Kaspersky

Bitdefender

eTrust

AntiVir

otherwise, have a look at A Squared Free as a general antitrojan scanner

or Spyware Terminator

There are a lot of good suggestions above, but a lot of anti virus (even the good ones) dont always pick up the trojans/hijacking/malware/ spyware etc.

You tend to find, even the paid big named anti virus providers arent that good at removing or blocking a lot of spyware/malware/trojans (although they are gradually getting better at it). Likewise the spyware removal/blocking tools arent usually good at identifying viruses.

Personally I use Spybot Search and Destroy AND Lavasoft SE Adaware both excellent FREE trojan/spyware/malware removal and blocking. I have found in the past Spybot S&D and Adaware have both spotted malware/trojans even when I used to run Norton AntiVirus (that didnt spot the malware).

I use both beacuse one will always pick up what the other doesnt. Spybot also comes with resident tool to block future attacks as well as cleaning your system, and imunising your system from known attacks (the free lavasot version only removes) and the advanced section of Spybot can do cool things like remove Browser Help Objects (Nasty Tool bars/Active X components you cant seem to uninstall from your browser.

I would use a regular anti virus product on top of these products as although Spybot and Adaware are excellent tools like I mentioned above they dont cover viruses.

A good Anti virus tool (free one) that i use are Grisofts AVG
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

They also do a separate spyware tool (see details on the same page on the link above), but I havent used it so I couldnt really comment on it, but their anti virus software is quite good.

Spybot:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

Lavasoft (SE personal edition is the free one):
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php

PS Dont try and download any of these (or any other anti virus products) from different sites, the links above are from the developers web site.

Always get important software (even the free ones) from either reliable web sources that you trust (for example I get a lot of stuff from tucows.com as over the years I have used it a lot) or where possible straight from the developers web site!

Another thing to bear in mind are some viruses/malware cant be fixed from antivirus or spyware progs, a good example that I fell foul of a while ago is the incredably nasty winfixer malware (comes under a variety of names).

This insidious malware hooks directly into Windows Explorer, so that every time you open Internet Explorer it spawns a window offering stupid spyware program you have to pay for, or some other silly advertisement - incredibly nasty once you've been infected - and extremely hard to get rid off.

In the end I had to download a specific fix for it (the vundo fix) which worked for me (nothing else would work) - so if you know what you've been infected with sometimes you have to hunt for specific fixes to that particular virus.

A good tool to identify viruses is Hijack This

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

You can use this tool to produce a report, that you post to the Hijack This message board/forum (the link for this is also on the same page at the above majorgeeks link) . Then you get a personalised answer/suggestions as to how to remove the specific virus your infected with.

Hope this helps

AVG Antivirus can detect trojan horses but only pop-ups. U can use Ad-Aware because trojan horses sometimes are malware. These 2 can remove that.

All these programs are the full version and free for home use. Some remove malware and some stop it installing on your pc in the first place.

You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files may be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.

You need to install one anti virus;
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ -AVG anti virus or
http://www.avast.com - Avast Antivirus

You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Also use Microsoft Defender and their online scans.

And these are useful utilities;

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

in case you opt on loose then i suggestions Avast , superantispyware and Malwarebytes. coupled with Comodo firewall they're all loose for own use . that is possibility-free to apply 2 anti-secret agent products yet not in any respect use better than one A/V because it ought to reason conflicts. you ought to run A/V and anti secret agent weekly.
