Yes, But only to an extent. Say if you are using windows 98 and windows XP. You can install win98 on FAT 32 partition and Win XP on NTFS Partition.

Since Windows 98 Doesnt support NTFS, when ever you use Win 98 the winxp partition cannot be infected.

But the opp doesnt work. When you are in Winxp which supports FAT32 and NTFS both the partitons can be accessed.

If you have vista you can install vitsa on winmx ( or some name if i remember it wrong) partiton. So when you work with winXp the vista partiton cant be accessed but when your in Vista you can access XP.

As of infecting the BIOS there are very less chances. These days all BIOS are ROM BIOS which cant be accessed by Software. Special Readers are needed to modify them.

There is no virus to infect BIOS. You can not create such partition.

A virus can't 'infect' your BIOS. It could delete it or make it stop functioning properly, but you can't infect your BIOS, it's part of your computers firmware (not active software).

if your OS isn't initiating and you go with for to reinstall without formating you're able to try this. purely positioned the CD in and bypass in the time of the setup and once you get to the section the place it asks you in case you what form of format you go with for to apply, purely go with the no substitute determination. or you need to use a bootable Disk including Knoppix or Bart's PE. i think of you would be wonderful :]
