i had a call from a guy harris county jail, i accepted it cuz it was my work fone and just to see how scams are. the guy gave me a number and said to call her wife and give her a message to pick her daughter up from jail. starting from *72. i called the phone number first and asked for the name but it was a wrong number. then i thouht to try *72 knwing it was scam. but the call didn't go thru. machine said please check the number bla bla bla.
do u think i fell victim of this scam and activated the call forward thing. do i need to do something.
i called from other phone it still rings though.

"If a consumer believes that he has just fallen victim to this scam, he can press "#73" or "*73", depending on the service provider, to turn off the call forwarding"

Yes U got scammed U never dial that number when someone tells U 2.Now U need 2 contact your phone company & tell them otherwise you'll have a huge phone bill.Good Luck

Yes, you got scammed...You better call your phone comp. as soon you read these post. I own a group to fight scammers in yahoo.
It is the easy way, to get your account and your number from you.
If paeple don't think fast, they will do it. And like what you said, is that a guy asked you to call his chld from jail, an S.O.S. call. It is commen that we help pealpe, when they need help.
That is one of our "weakness" that is next to our "heart" when your single. There are more than 419 ways to get scammed..
and you just got hit by one of them.

i could like a replica of the e-mail if it quite is not too plenty difficulty. somebody tried to tear-off my mom with 2 loose yorkies and delivery from Africa or some nonsense alongside with that. She emailed them decrease back and informed them the place to adhere the airplane. lol
