I bought a laptop a couple months ago and have since then burned the recovery dvd's that it prompts you to do. The computer was advertised as an 80 GB hard drive, but the C Drive is 64 GB and there's a D Drive with all the recovery files. Since I burned the discs, shouldn't I be able to delete that 10 GB drive intended for recovery? If so, does anyone know how? My computer won't let me into it to even view the files.

On my lap-top there is the touch pad thingy instead of a mouse like on desk-tops, well on this touch pad thing, if you tap the touch pad twice quickly, or once rather hard, it will be like you pushed the left clicker button.

Is this on every lap-top, or is mine just f'ed up?

And if you know how, could you please tell me how to turn off this
"one hard tap = one click" bull crap...

It first started out that when I turned it on, it would boot up, but windows would not open. Well I was running a diagnostic and suddenly it just turned off. I can't get it to turn on at all. No lights, no sounds, no nothing. Anybody have any ideas on what is wrong?

Both will have 1GB of RAM on them. How do these two processors compare? Will the Celeron be slow? The internet and other such daily used programs will be running on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

i was going to buy a new dell laptop from a guy online and then i noticed that he downgraded the processor when he ordered the laptop from an AMD turion 64 mobile mk-36 to a mobile AMD sempron 3500+. now i am having second thoughts. am i just overreacting? will this be a significantly lower quality machine than it would have been with the turion? i will not be playing games on it. just internet videos and dvd stuff. his selling price is $699. help asap!

They worked fine the other day, but now when i play music the sound is weird. I don't know if maybe the speakers got dust in them or if a wire isn't fully connected in the computer. does anyone know how to fix the speakers?

If not there then where? I heard of places that sell laptops for 250 but I always wonder if they work. I could fix them to work, but what I really want is one that aready works. I just don't have 700 dollars for a brand new laptop (besides I need to buy a desktop and the one I need cost around 1200).

Anybody buy laptops from computer shops for less than 300? Don't need an OS, nor a dvd player. Just memory (512mb) usb ports and pcmcia ports for wireless cards.

I don't want to get another Apple power adapter - it's designed very badly, and it's expensive. I'm looking for a replacement one that has been tried and true. Any suggestions?

My laptop is fairly old, it is an HP ze1201, and my disk drive skips, and I need to run my OS Recovery Disk CDs. SO instead of buying an external cd drive, wouldn't it be better if I can get one Internal?
