My powerbook g4, that i have had for a little over a year wont go past the white apple screen (the screen that comes on before the deskdop comes on. it's a white screen, with an apple in the middle and a little round circle thing going round and round.) I've left it on for a while, restarted it, let the battery run out, i took the battery out.. it wont start.

It's one of the computers that had a faulty battery. I just ordered the new battery. I havn't got it yet. I had taken the old battery out a few times to check the bar codes and stuff to order the new battery. After this, my computer wouldn't log on to the desktop. It shouldn't have anythign to do with the battery, becasue the computer is supposed to work without the battery when it's plugged in.

I'm going to eventually take it in to the apple store, but i've been busy and it's going ot take me a few days or a week or something. I was wondering if anyone on here could help??

THANKS.

I know that you can get a firewire card for a desktop if you have an available "slot". BUT I have a LAPTOP so there are no slots - but would i be able to attach a firewire card to the laptop anyway (I don't care if the card is hanging off by a cable/looks crappy). thanks in advance!

Originally I wanted to buy this specific brand Dell Laptop off of Dell's official website, but they insist on having the OS be Windows Vista rather than XP. Does anyone know where I can just purchase this laptop WITHOUT the troublesome Vista OS, that's causing so many people problems?

I will be buying the new Macbook soon. I know Apple has an education store that offers big discounts but are there any others? Any1 have any coupons or codes or websites or any tips on how to save even more $$? Are the Macbooks due for an upgrade? If so when? And will that make the Macbooks that are currently out cheaper? Any help on getting the most for my money when it comes to Mac will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am looking for a laptop for my boyfriend that would be good for basiclly school work. Also it would be good if it had a decent amount of memory (for music mostly). I am not really looking for anything fancy just reliable and good for travelling. My boyfriend might be kind of rough with it so I am not sure. I have a toshiba laptop that I love but I am not sure it will work for him, what do you guys think?
